Full Day in Nyerere National Park
Today is dedicated to exploring the vast Nyerere National Park. After breakfast, head out on a full-day game drive through this incredible park, home to an abundance of wildlife such as elephants, lions, and wild dogs, as well as diverse birdlife. The evening offers a perfect opportunity to relax and reflect on the day's adventure with an overnight stay at Africa Safari Selous.
Nyerere (Walking Tour) to Mikumi
After an early breakfast, embark on a thrilling walking safari with an armed ranger, offering a closer and more intimate experience of the African bush. Later, depart for Mikumi National Park, which is about a 6-7 hour drive from Nyerere. Upon arrival in the evening, check in at Camp Bastian, where you'll rest for the night.
Mikumi National Park
Today, venture out on a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is known for its wide open spaces and abundant wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and elephants. Be on the lookout for predators like lions and leopards. After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing, return to Camp Bastian for your overnight stay.
Mikumi to Ruaha via Iringa
Begin the day with a morning departure towards Ruaha National Park. En route, stop to visit the Isimila Stone Age Site, where you can explore ancient tools and striking eroded sandstone pillars. Continue your journey to Ruaha, arriving in the afternoon and checking into Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations.

Known for its rugged beauty and incredible wildlife, the park is home to a large population of elephants, lions, leopards, and numerous bird species. Today, enjoy a thrilling walking safari in Ruaha, guided by an experienced ranger. The walk, which lasts between 3 to 4 hours, offers an up-close look at the park’s ecosystems and wildlife. Ruaha to Udzungwa via Mikumi
In the morning, depart from Ruaha and travel back through Mikumi National Park to the Udzungwa Mountains. Once you arrive, take time to relax and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings before checking in at Camp Bastian for the night.
Hiking Sanje Falls Before the Journey Home 🌿
On the final day of your journey, embark on a hike to Sanje Waterfalls in the Udzungwa Mountains, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the forest and lush landscape. After the hike, you'll be transferred back to Dar es Salaam, bringing your safari to an end as you arrive in the city later in the afternoon.
