Uppsala is a charming mediaeval university city located 70 kilometres northwest of Stockholm and only 25 minutes from Arlanda Airport. The charming settlement of Sigtuna offers a postcard-perfect view of a typical Swedish village. The quirky, colourful, and wholly original works of modernist sculptor and painter Bror Hjorth (1894-1968) stand out in this lovely museum. The City Park (Stadsträdgrden) in Uppsala was built in the late 1800s and is a peaceful haven to relax. The lovely Holy Trinity Church (Helga Trefaldighets Kyrka), just steps away from the cathedral, was built in 1302. The Gamla Uppsala Museum (Riksantikvarieämbetet Gamla) is a must-see for anybody visiting Uppsala.
