Discover your day-by-day holiday flow
Cancun
On the second day, take a Mexican cooking class. On this tour, you will learn how to prepare Mexico's national dish as well as its history and origin. You will also be introduced to traditional Mexican flavours and taught how to prepare authentic Mexican cuisine. There are numerous tours available online, so read reviews before making your reservation. According to TripAdvisor reviews, Can Cook in Cancun is the best cooking class in Cancun. The cheapest way to spend an afternoon in Cancun, but it is a unique experience worth the price.
Valladolid
Can spend three days in Valladolid, a charming colonial town in the heart of the Yukatan Peninsula. Check out of your Cancun hotel and then travel to Valladolid. The city is located two hours west of Cancun and is accessible by local buses. When you arrive, check into your chosen lodging and rent a bike. Biking around Valladolid is a great way to explore the city at your own pace. Remember to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws in the downtown area.
Chichen Itza
On the fourth day, get up early and join a guided tour to the enigmatic Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Yucatan Peninsula. Joining a guided tour will teach you about how this great civilization created some of the most complex architectural structures, astronomical observatory structures, and impressive stone monoliths. The Temple of Kukulkan, also known as the El Castillo pyramid ruin, highlights this ancient site. Consider taking a Chichen Itza tour with a private archaeologist if you have extra cash. Some terms give you early access to Chichén Itzá, giving you more time to marvel at the ancient structures without having to fight the crowds.
Tulum
Take an all-inclusive day trip from Valladolid to the breathtaking Tulum Ruins on your fifth day. Like most Mayan cities, Tulum played an essential role in the Mayan Empire's post-classic period, and Tulum served as a trading port due to its strategic location on the coast. Your tour guide will tell you about the site's history and introduce you to some of Tulum's ancient architectural wonders. After your historical tour, don't forget to go for a swim at the nearby beach.
Playa Del Carmen
Depending on when you arrive, you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere in Playa Del Carmen, or you can start your tour of its famous attractions. Check into your preferred lodging and dine at one of the city's top-rated restaurants. Rest for a while before venturing out to see some of Playa Del Carmen's most popular attractions, such as Xcaret Eco Theme Park, Cenote Chaak Tun (swim in caves with crystal clear water) Quinta Avenida, and La Playa Xpuha.
Playa Del Carmen
Your adventure in Mexico comes to an end today. Given that you most likely stayed out late the night before, you can begin your final day in Playa Del Carmen around 10 to 11 a.m. If your flight is in the evening or late afternoon, go sightseeing in the city to see what else you might have missed. Make time for one more fantastic lunch or dinner in the town. You could even stop by Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue) for some souvenir shopping before heading to the airport. Return to the airport in time to check-in for your international flight home, or choose to continue exploring Mexico independently or extend your stay in Playa Del Carmen. The choice is entirely yours!
Return back to the UK
This concludes our suggested 7-day itinerary. You are free to extend your vacation for as long as you like or until you have all of the attractions that interest you. Spend time getting to know the locals, sampling the best Mexican cuisine, and exploring other parts of Mexico. If the pace becomes too fast, reorganize your sightseeing priorities. Have an incredible journey!
Day 1
Cancun
Please check in and make and confirm reservations for the week. Investigate the hotel, beach, and pool areas. Dinner should be served at your hotel or a nearby restaurant (as you will likely have had one too many margaritas). There's no better way to get to know a city than visiting a local market. Go shopping at the Coral Negro Flea Market. Spend the remainder of the day at Playa Delfines, a famous beach with clear turquoise water and white sand. This postcard-perfect beach, not far from the Hotel Zone, offers a tranquil beach experience as well as increased privacy. However, due to strong currents and riptides, it is not a good beach for swimming. Because the beach is secluded and unspoiled by commercialism, there are no fancy hotels, restaurants, or bars. If you plan to spend the entire day here, make sure to bring snacks and supplies.
