Bucharest to Dracula's Castle
One of Romania's most popular tourist destinations is Dracula's Castle, also known as Bran Castle. This castle is widely referred to as Dracula's Castle because it strongly resembles the one Bram Stoker depicts in his novel. A 3-hour drive from Bucharest will take you to Bran Castle, passing two other spectacular sites en route. Make stops en route to Bran. On your way to Bran, you should stop at Peles Castle. It seems like something out of a fairytale, a stunning castle. The royal family's former vacation home is now a visitor-friendly Neo-Renaissance castle.
Brasov to Sighisoara
Sighisoara is the fairytale village of your dreams and is worth the little detour before driving the world's best road! It takes around two hours to get there from Brasov. Dracula resides in this mediaeval town. Well, this lovely village is where Vlad III Dracula was born. Even better, you can go to his birthplace, which is now home to a restaurant and a museum of mediaeval weapons. It is close to the historic clock tower, visible as soon as you emerge from the tunnel into the old town. Sighisoara is one of Europe's best-preserved mediaeval towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sighisoara is worth visiting, even if a day trip is unnecessary. Visit the churches, stroll along the cobblestone streets, and observe the nine towers.
Day 1
Bucharest
Bucharest is a thriving metropolis with a striking contrast between its old- and new-world architecture. Bucharest is known as "Little Paris" and exhibits a strong French influence in its architecture from the 20th century, its residents' penchant for the good life, and its own Arc de Triomphe. The Palace of Parliament, the second-largest structure in the world after the Pentagon, is Bucharest's top tourist destination. And although though the capital city of Romania frequently receives a poor rap due to its communist background, it is worth visiting this hip town where commerce coexists with cobblestone pedestrian walkways.
