Ski Holidays
Get a quick look at your holiday experience
Affordable skiing, a vibrant nightlife, and all this in a beautiful woodland setting.
Skiing in Borovets, Bulgaria, is something incredible. There are two separate ski areas in Borovets: one near the Rila Hotel and the other by the Yastrebetz Gondola. The eastern Rila Mountains, a little over 70km south of Bulgaria's capital Sofia, are home to the resort's ski area, which is spread across the foothills and ridge-spine of Musala peak, the highest mountain in Bulgaria and the Balkans. The hills here are gentle, with hotels, pubs, and dining establishments all around. As you advance, you'll go to the chairlift at Sitnyakovo, which presents a little problem. Although it's a tiny space, it's sufficient to get you going. Throughout the season, night skiing is also permitted on the Sitnyakovo chairlift. Our Holiday Vibes are Good Vibes Only!

Rila Mountain Winter Day Trip
After breakfast, take a pleasant day trip to Rila Mountain and get into the winter spirit. Adapt the tour to your preferences by selecting from a variety of choices, such as skiing, ski-doing, a lift break, a visit to a fortress, or visiting the thermal pool. A swimming and spa complex that serves as the ideal respite from a strenuous day in the mountains is hidden away at the foot of the Rila in a town known for its hot mineral water, amid peace, among the scent of pine trees. Once the water surrounds you, the 40-minute drive to the complex will have been worth every kilometre.
Hike up to the Musala summit.
After breakfast, travel to the Balkan Peninsula's rooftop for a break from the city's noise and bustle. You'll reach Musala's top on this small group guided walk. Enjoy the panoramic vistas and some of Bulgaria's stunning alpine scenery as you make your way towards the 9,600-foot (2,925-meter) peak. Includes round-trip transportation from Sofia's city centre.
Departure
It's been a fantastic stay, but it's time to say goodbye, pack your bags, and head home with lots of happy memories.
