Begin your holiday with a tour of the Marolles flea market on your first day in Brussels. From there, stroll to the Palais Royal, which used to serve as the Belgian royal family's official residence. Brussels Park is just close to the palace, where you can wander or relax on its expansive lawns while admiring the architectural magnificence of the nearby Royal Palace and federal parliament complex. Before visiting the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, stop by the Musical Instruments Museum, home to priceless and unique musical instruments from around the world. End your day with a stunning view of the setting sun from Place Poelaert by spending your evening at the Church of Our Blessed Lady of the Sablon.

The fountain of Manneken Pis

Begin near the Manneken Pis fountain, Belgium's unofficial flag. The Grand Place, Brussels' busiest square, is far from here. Visit the Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert to shop or sample the best Belgian cuisine. Later, proceed to the Belgian Comics Art Museum, housed in a former warehouse designed in the Art Nouveau style by Victor Horta. Participate in a chocolate walking tour (a must-do in Brussels), then unwind in Le Botanique's open spaces. With a few beers and some puppetry at the Théâtre Royal De Toone, call it a day.
