Exploring the City
Start your day by visiting Luxembourg Gardens (Jardin du Luxembourg), one of Paris's most renowned tourist attractions. Marie de’ Medici of Henri the 9th erected the Palais du Luxembourg in 1612. The Saint Sulpice church of God is located just beyond the park.
Visit the Holy Chapel
King Louis IX constructed the Holy Chapel to house the relics of the True Cross, including the original Crown of Thorns. The stained glass appears to allow the bright light to flow through the windows as it stands over painted masonry of 1130 biblical figures.
The Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum (Paris) is among the city's top ten most frequented tourist attractions. One of the world's most famous paintings, the Mona Lisa, was stolen from the Louvre in 1911. Many essential art treasures are held in the Louvre Museum's Denon wing, including Michelangelo's The Dying Slave, found on the ground level at the Michelangelo Gallery. Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa, in room 77, first floor, is another masterwork in this wing.
Explore Tuileries Gardens
The magnificent Tuileries Gardens are between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. Catherine de’ Medici designed it for Louis XIV in 1564. In 1667, the garden's gates were open to the public for a promenade.
Take in the beauty of the Eiffel Tower
Spend your romantic evening at the Eiffel Tower. It was erected for the Paris World Exhibition in 1889 and is one of Europe's most famous landmarks. The Eiffel Tower became a memorable part of the Parisian landscape, residing in the hearts of Parisians as the city's symbol and giving it the most magnificent and famous skyline. While walking throughout the city, it is impossible to miss the Eiffel Tower.
Go to Champ de Mars
Next, visit the Champ de Mars, one of Paris's most attractive parks for families, between the Eiffel Tower and the Ecole militaire. The grassy field was initially built to host parades for the French Military Academy, but it is now a popular picnic spot.
Discover Dome Church
The Dome Church (Paris) was erected between 1677 and 1735 and is considered one of Louis the 14th's most delicate religious constructions. The spectacular Tombeau de Napoleon 1er (Tomb of Napoleon) houses the remains of one legendary Napoleon Bonaparte.
Arc de Triomphe
See the Arc de Triomphe, which is located 2 kilometres northwest of Place de la Concorde and is the world's giant traffic roundabout and the world's largest and tallest triumphal arch. Napoleon commissioned the 161-foot triumphal arch in 1806. From the Arc, you can see the Musee du Louvre.
Explore the Champs Elysees Avenue
The Champs Elysees Avenue in Paris is one of the world's most recognised roadways. According to Greek myth, the 'Elysian Fields' are where cheerful souls live. The avenue is also the starting point for the final leg of the Tour de France bicycle competition. Despite the heavy traffic and quick food outlets, the city represents the style and happiness of life in France on Champs Elysees Avenue. Along the way, you'll pass by high-end stores such as Louis Vuitton and Cartier, as well as theatres and cafes. In some magical way, the avenue always feels like something is going on. The stores are open until late at night, and many are open every day.
Departure
