The medieval Castle of Paphos
Cyprus's medieval fortification is constructed during the Byzantine era to guard the city's harbour.
It was passed down and destroyed by several dynasties, including the Lusignans, Venetians, and, ultimately, the Ottomans. It is a beautiful castle that is always open to visitors, barring federal holidays.
Tombs of Kings
Next, go to the Kings' Tombs. This archaeological site dates to 31 BC and has been recognised by UNESCO. Explore the intriguing history, and ruins found here. It is advised to visit this location early in the day before the sun becomes too hot and the crowds of tourists arrive. The opening hours are 8:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., and there is a €2.50 entry fee.
Laona
You can head to Laona in the Old Town for authentic cuisine after visiting the ruins at the Tomb of the Kings. Authentic Cypriot delicacies like stuffed lamb and lawar are famous at this Greek and Mediterranean restaurant. You should visit this restaurant just for the fantastic food and old-world ambience.
Paphos Archaeological Park
The Paphos Archaeological Park is situated right close to the town on a tiny peninsula. Amazingly well-preserved Roman paintings and mosaics from the second to third centuries AD are the remnants of the old Roman Empire. The Dionysus Pavilion stands out among the many monuments and contains numerous exquisite, handcrafted mosaics. Greek mythology is a super-class subject because of how vivid it is.
Explore the Church of Panagia Chrysopolitissa
Visit the Panagia Chrysopolitissa Church, a classic Byzantine structure in the town's archaeological remnants.
To the Beach
After a fruitful day spent learning about Cyprus' rich history, it could be a good idea to cool off at the city's beaches. Coral Bay, Latchi Beach, and Blue Flag Vrysoudia Beach are just a few of Paphos' breathtaking beaches.
Ledra street or old town
An abundance of stores, eateries, cafes and tourist attractions are found on Ledra Street, or the Old Town, a pedestrian-only street. Ledra, a former kingdom that once occupied the area where Nicosia now stands, is honoured by the name of this important commercial area in the nation's capital. The UN Buffer Zone includes a brief section of Ledra Street before the Turkish section of the capital city starts. An excellent opportunity to learn about Cyprus's art, crafts, and culture while also learning about its complex past with Turkey is to go (window) shopping on Ledra Street.
Leventis Museum
Travel down Duck and into the Levantis Museum to thoroughly immerse yourself in historical and ancient Cypriot artworks, including pictures, pottery, maps, costumes, artefacts, gems, and more. From the Chalcolithic period, which began in 3,000 BC, to the present, this museum chronicles Nicosia's long history and demonstrates the social evolution of the city. The museum's exhibits are organised chronologically, and visitors can browse a gift store and a small library.
Troodos Mountains
Visit Cyprus' incredible mountain range, the Troodos Mountains, which are home to several tranquil villages and ancient monasteries that date back to the Byzantine era. This region, roughly 70 kilometres away, is a beautiful day trip location.
Kykkos Monastery, Tzelefos Bridge, and Mongari Village are a few must-see attractions in this region.
Scuba diving
Scuba diving is a fantastic way to spend an evening in Cyprus. You can get intimate with the colourful variety of marine life in the Mediterranean Sea due to how translucent the water is.
